The three disciplines listed are CNA "Certified Nursing Assistant", HHA "Homehealth Aide", PCA "Personal Care Assistant". Here is a discription og how you can identify each.
CNA - The basic duties of CNA include maintaining personal hygiene of the patients like brushing their teeth, combing their hair, shaving, changing clothes, etc. They also have to maintain the cleanliness of the patient’s surroundings and prevent the spread of infection. 2. Maintaining the Records of the Patient. These individuals have been undertaken a course of study that has prepared them, to be certified in assisting with daily living task or (ADL's)
HHA - Offer personal care and assistance to patients following their care plan. Help patients to get in and out of
bed, and with ambulation. Learn from health personnel and administer prescribed exercises to patients. Prepare therapeutic diets and other meals and help patients to eat the. Help patients in using urinals, bedpans, or commodes, or to the bathroom. Provide domestic and house-hold services to enhance patients’ self care at home. Assist patients in applying or taking self-administered medications. Perform activities such as bladder hygiene care, changing colostomy bags, taking of non-sterile bowel and vital signs, and other activities taught by a healthcare professional. Report to the case manager or supervising therapist or nurse observed changes in patient’s needs and condition.
PCA - Personal care aides generally are responsible for light cleaning, cooking, running errands, and doing laundry, as well as assisting clients with bathing, showering, grooming, and other personal hygiene tasks. They also engage clients in activities like reading, talking, and playing games.
